Release of 8 new models of Samsung Digital Camera

6 Jan 2008 - C Samsung Techwin (CEO: Lee, Joong-Goo, www.samsungtechwin.com) has announced the release of the new HD digital camera, Samsung NV24HD -which will make a technological breakthrough in the digital camera industry- as well as 7 other new types of digital camera, upgraded in design and capability at the 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) which will be held in Las Vegas, U.S.A. CES is the worlds biggest expo for electronic goods.

The 10.2 Mega pixel Samsung NV24HD has superb technology, and displays high definition images with greater speed and clarity using Samsung's exclusive high speed image processing technology, the DRIM Engine II.

Samsung released the world's first HDMI digital camera in the compact digital camera industry in 2006, and the new Samsung NV24HD product will give users greater enjoyment when viewing high definition FULL HD images through the upgraded HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface). Video functions are also upgraded. The H.264, a next generation video size, is used. Supporting 1280x720p at 30fps, it enables clear HD level stereo video recording, which is more than 4 times as efficient as the competitors products. The camera can be controlled by a Samsung DTV remote control through the Anynet+ from a distance, and high definition pictures can be enjoyed conveniently from the living room sofa. 
 
The Samsung NV24HD is a digital camera, equipped with the world's smallest 24mm ultra optical wide 3.6x zoom luxury Schneider lens digital ensuring an extended field of vision, a slim body and secure grip. It is also equipped with a revolutionary smart touch UI.  

The AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) display, referred to as a next generation image display, is used.  A rich expression of colour, clear picture quality in bright outdoor environments, a fast response and a 180o angle view are available for upgraded pictures and video playback.

OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and DIS (Digital Image Stabilization), which is Samsung's exclusive technology, have been implemented simultaneously, enabling optimal correction of camera shake. Delicate expressions in difficult shooting environments are possible with the ACB (Auto Contrast Balance) function, enabling automatic correction of the brightness of a subject.

Other than those, various shooting functions, such as an automatic shooting function for smiling face recognition, a Face Detection function for optimal portrait shots, a Red Eye Fix function for the automatic post-correction of red eye shots, a Photo Style Selector function supporting 7 various effects for beginners and intermediate level users, motion capture, and a High Speed continuous shot, are available.

An NV24HD with built-in 20MB memory supports MMC, SD and SDHC memory cards. The size of the product is 98.5 x 61 x 18.95mm.

Samsung i8 with Colorful Colours & Various Multimedia Functions

The Samsung Techwin Samsung i8 with 7 useful functions is a multimedia digital camera supporting various functions other than shooting, such as watching movies through the PMP, MP3 music playback, travel information and text viewer. The design inspiration was a smooth round pebble, and hence you want to feel it in your hand. There are 4 different colours suitable for the younger generation namely white, black, blue and pink. Possessing one plays an iconic role for the younger generation.

A Samsung i8 is as ultra small as a business card, but it provides excellent camera capabilities. 8 Mega pixels with a high definition image sensor is fitted, and the optical 3x zoom inner lens method enables one to get shooting ready without any sound when turning on the power. A 2.7in (6.86cm) high definition LCD is also used, and shows images which have been shot.

SVGA size video recording is possible, and the optical zoom can be used while recording. When video recording, useful functions such as pause, shot continuity and partial file extraction are provided and are handy for making UCC's.

This product has optimized camera shake correction using an enforced image processing technology. Shaking is minimized in shooting situations where there is a poor light source, through the support of the ISO 1600, which is high speed sensitivity shooting. The DIS (Digital Image Stabilization) function, Samsung's unique technology, can display natural colours in a dark environment without using the flash.

A variety of further functions are provided: A Photo Style Selector function enables one to shoot various selected styles of pictures as they are in preview mode. A Colour Filter function turns unwanted areas into a black and white tone. A Smart Tools function can achieve various fun pictures in an environment without a PC and satisfies the creative nature of photography. An easy menu configuration with a flash animation GUI method and a multi-slide show function, which enables the users to enjoy pictures while listening to background music, are also installed. The Samsung  i8 supports a built-in 195MB memory card, MMC, SC and SDHC memory cards. The size of the product is 90.7 X 58 X 19.9 mm.

Fun Shooting and Premium Levels of Performance, Samsung NV40 and Other

Samsung Techwin has also released premium digital cameras such as the NV40, NV30 and NV4, and the L210, L110 and L100 with their convenience and excellent capabilities.

The NV40 and NV30 are each equipped with an image sensor of 10.5 Mega pixels and 8.1 Mega pixels respectively, and are able to shoot in dark places without shaking using a DRIM engine. Concurrent use of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and DIS (Digital Image Stabilization), which is Samsung's exclusive technology, ensures the shooting of clear images under any conditions. A Face Detection function for optimal portrait shots and an ACB (Auto Contrast Balance) function for auto adjustment of the subject's brightness are fitted, and enable one to express the best quality images in difficult shooting conditions.

The Samsung NV4 has colours such as classic silver and black, and lively pink. The Samsung NV4 has a futuristic luxurious design, and has two models which are made from different materials: robust Stainless steel or light Titanium with excellent durability and bio-friendly characteristics. A high definition image sensor with 8 Mega pixels is installed, and the optical 3x zoom inner lens method enables one to get shooting ready without any sound when turning on the power. A 2.5in (6.35cm) high definition LCD is also mounted and shows delicate images which have been shot. 7 various useful multimedia functions such as PMP, MP3 music playback, watching videos, a text viewer function, etc, provide fun 24/7.

The Samsung L210 (10.2 Mega pixels), the L110 (8.2 Mega pixels), and the L100 (8.2 Mega pixels) with advanced functions and a fashionable metal body in a small size are fitted with an optical 3x zoom lens and a high definition 2.5in (6.35cm) LCD which display the subject's pictorial expressions. The L210 and L110 are fitted concurrently with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and Samsung's unique DIS (Digital Image Stabilization) technology for clear image shooting under any circumstances. The L210, in particular, is the worlds smallest camera compared to the competitors compact cameras fitted with OIS.  Samsung's multi charging system without heavy charger and cradle can be connected to a PC using a USB cable with a charging function and carry out charging and data communication, which is useful when travelling. Optimal outdoor visibility is provided by adjusting the LCDs brightness automatically based upon the external environment. Anybody can easily use the camera through a functional description which provides simple and clear explanations of the cameras functions, and a Photo Help Guide which informs users of how to use the camera in a situation where incorrect images can be taken.
